So, cool, the Kickstarter funding for The Big Aha <\/a>is still going up. Yeah, baby! I\u2019m casting off the shackles of the conventional pub biz.<\/p>\n

I’ve formulated a new goal, which is to include an illustration for each of the book\u2019s thirteen or fourteen chapters. This is the kind of thing I\u2019d never be allowed to do with a commercial publisher. But I\u2019ve looked at the production costs and my goal is entirely feasible.<\/p>\n

My plan is that The Big Aha <\/em> will include about fifteen of my paintings as illustrations, one per chapter, plus one on the cover.<\/p>\n

So now I\u2019m planning for several new paintings. But\u2014not to kill myself with overwork\u2014I\u2019m going to repurpose some of my older paintings as well. I might use the Big-Aha-vision-type painting above, for instance, which is titled He Sees The Fnoor<\/em>. Is that a Mandelbrot set in the sky? Or\u2026maybe it\u2019s an alien gub<\/em>!<\/p>\n

Here\u2019s another type of Big-Aha-vision painting that I want to use. This one\u2019s called Dawn<\/em>. It\u2019s a painting of my wife early in the morning on our back porch. It\u2019s a Zen type of Big-Aha-vision painting\u2014where the Great Enlightenment is right in front of you, if only you can learn to see it.<\/p>\n

But don\u2019t worry, I\u2019ll have plenty of gnarly SF-style illos as well! Like the one I\u2019m working on right now\u2014this one\u2019s called The Mr. Normals Versus The Myoor<\/em>. I\u2019ll let you have a look at it when it\u2019s a little further along. This particular painting will be useful for me, as it\u2019s a previsualization of what I\u2019m going to write in the next chapter.<\/p>\n
