{"id":3409,"date":"2011-09-02T20:36:16","date_gmt":"2011-09-03T04:36:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.rudyrucker.com\/blog\/?p=3409"},"modified":"2011-09-03T19:20:38","modified_gmt":"2011-09-04T03:20:38","slug":"back-from-visiting-my-daughters","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.rudyrucker.com\/blog\/2011\/09\/02\/back-from-visiting-my-daughters\/","title":{"rendered":"Two Daughters!"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I\u2019ve been away from the blog for the last few weeks because I was on a trip out to Wyoming and Wisconsin to visit our two daughters and their families.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rudyrucker.com\/blog\/images3\/wyruiz.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>Isabel lives in Wyoming, where she runs her business,<a target=\"blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.isabeljewelry.com\"> Isabel Jewelry<\/a>, which exists both online and as a storefront in Pindedale, WY.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rudyrucker.com\/blog\/images3\/wiruga.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>And Georgia is in Wisconsin, running her business <a target=\"blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.grfix.com\">Georgia Rucker Design<\/a>, where she\u2019s mostly designing books these days.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rudyrucker.com\/blog\/images3\/wyizearrings.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>Isabel has accumulated an amazing amount of tools and know-how over the years.  It\u2019s sort of alchemical, the way she turns bits of stone and metal into adornment.  I\u2019ve always loved cluttered workbenches.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rudyrucker.com\/blog\/images3\/des_cowufo.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p> I didn\u2019t get any photos of Georgia&#8217;s office because mostly we were at her house with her husband, Courtney, their two kids, and the kids\u2019 toys. I gave my little grandson that &#8220;Cow and UFO&#8221; painting I was talking about in the previous blog post. I get kind of hyper when we go swimming.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rudyrucker.com\/blog\/images3\/cloud-spirits-II-small.jpg\"><br \/>\n<em>\u201cCloud Spirits II,\u201d\u009d (C) Isabel Rucker, about 6 feet by 1.5 feet,  November, 2010, Latex paint on wood. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rudyrucker.com\/blog\/images3\/cloud-spirits-II-closeup1200.jpg\"> Click for a large detail view of the picture.<\/a><\/em><\/p>\n<p>Isabel is a painter too, and, as well as her jewelry, she\u2019s been making fairly large paintings of clouds&#8212;the one above is called \u201cCloud Spirits,\u201d\u009d and is quite awesome.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rudyrucker.com\/blog\/images3\/cruzmastmirror.jpg\"><\/p>\n<p>This is a cool picture of a reflection in the Santa Cruz Harbor.  I think I\u2019ll do a painting from this. It\u2019s a doozy.  I\u2019ll be rolling out the new issue early on Tuesday, September 6, when everyone&#8217;s back from the beach and at their computers.
