It&#039;s always nice when the house is clean and everything is tidy.  Poised for action.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rudyrucker.com\/blog\/images\/ondeck.jpg\" width=400 height=267 border=0 alt=&#039;&#039;><\/p>\n<p>We had our friend Elena and her husband Gunnar.  Elena is quite a character.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rudyrucker.com\/blog\/images\/elena.jpg\" width=400 height=267 border=0 alt=&#039;&#039;><\/p>\n<p>The occasion was the visit of Elena&#039;s son Jerry with his new wife Anne and baby Lula.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rudyrucker.com\/blog\/images\/lulafam.jpg\" width=400 height=300 border=0 alt=&#039;&#039;><\/p>\n<p>I love babies.  Anne is French, from Nancy, she says that back home doting fathers are called &#8220;Papa Poule,&#8221; the male version of &#8220;Mother Hen.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rudyrucker.com\/blog\/images\/lulalie.jpg\" width=400 height=267 border=0 alt=&#039;&#039;><\/p>\n<p>I made a fish stew for the meal.  But for me the high point was the chocolate cake.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.rudyrucker.com\/blog\/images\/cake.jpg\" width=400 height=267 border=0 alt=&#039;&#039;><\/p>\n<p>When I&#039;m full of sweets, things begin to look dreamy.  Life&#039;s lovely computations all around.  Oh, <i>forget<\/i> computation.
