He's an underground cartoonist/fine artist who's associated with the Fantagraphics group. For a while he was doing Jiva portraits -- you'd send in a brief autobiography or a list of things that were important to you and he'd draw a picture of your soul... I never had the balls to get one done, alas, but I hear they were surprisingly on-point. His jivas are radially symmetrical organisms, like coelenterates or echinoderms, only drawn/painted in a Kandy Kolored style that's reminiscent of old-style fruit crate illustrations.
